LECTURESHIPS IN COMPUTER VISION AND NEURAL NETWORKS
Department of Computer Science, University of York, UK.
Applications are invited for two lectureships in the Advanced
Architecture research group: one in computer vision and the other in
neural networks. We seek candidates with a strong track-record of
research to join an active and expanding group of some 30 researchers
with a high international profile within a Department that was rated 5*
in the most recent RAE and excellent for its teaching in TQA.
The existing strengths of the group are in neural networks (theory,
application and hardware implementation), content-based image
data-retrieval, graph algorithms for vision, statistical approaches to
shape analysis and object recognition. We seek candidates who can
complement and consolidate this effort through attracting research
income and producing high quality published output.
The posts are available immediately on the Lecturer Grade A (£17,238 -
£22,579 pa) or Grade B (£23,521 - £30,065 pa) scale.
Informal enquiries may be made to Professor Alan Burns, Head of
Department (01904 432779, burns@cs.york.ac.uk),
Professor Edwin Hancock,
Computer Vision (erh@cs.york.ac.uk)
or Professor Jim Austin, Neural
Networks, austin@cs.york.ac.uk).
