"Development of a new space perception system for blind people
based on the creation of a virtual acoustic space (VAS II)"
The project contemplates two research and development integrated lines,
one about sound auralization and perception of images from multiple
sound sources, and another one about artificial vision in order to get a
depth map of the frontal surround.
We are looking for a co-ordinator related to artificial vision. This
person will direct the tasks of a group of development in artificial
vision and will co-ordinate the subcontracted activities to
professionals, companies or research centres of different countries.
The objective is to develop a prototype system that allows to generate a
depth map in real time.
A Degree is needed and experience in research and development should be
proved. The possession of the Doctorate and/or the development of
similar artificial vision systems will be valued. The candidate should
have experience in algorithms, programming in real time, image
processing and knowledge about CCD and CMOS sensors.
The contract will be till 31/12/2001 and the remuneration will depend on
the qualification and proved experience of the candidate.
The co-ordinator will have to move to Tenerife during the period of the
project, as that person has to be in close contact with the other
members of the group to be able to co-ordinate all the tasks.
