The Biotechnology Imaging Stream within the CSIRO Division of
Mathematical and Information Sciences seeks to recruit a highly
competent, motivated and energetic image analyst.

This position will be part of a small team working on the development of
infrastructure and a research capability in automated high content image
analysis. This capability will be applied to the provision of our
software and algorithm development services to the biotechnology
industry, both in Australia and overseas.

The CSIRO Biotechnology Imaging Stream is a group of 10 research
scientists located in Sydney and Brisbane who specialise in algorithmic
and software solutions to real-world image analysis problems. You will
become a valuable member of our team of morphologists, statisticians,
image texture, stereo and motion experts and software engineers.

You will have earned a recent PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer
Science, Physics, Mathematics or a related discipline. You will have had
formal training in computer image analysis and have had some exposure to
health or biological applications.

You will be a competent and experienced user of computers to support
your research and will be proficient in at least one programming
language - preferably C, or C++. Preference will be given to candidates
with experience in developing new image segmentation techniques and
algorithms for practical image analysis problems and in dealing with
commercial clients.

You will be honest, ethical and a valued team player, meticulous in your
science and creative in your ideas with a solid track record in academia
or industry.
