An opportunity exists for a Research Officer to work on one of our EPSRC
funded research projects, investigating the use of hand-drawn sketches
as a mechanism for querying large video databases. The work will
involve developing and evaluating algorithms to analyse scene content
and dynamics in video clips, and to match this information to sketches
annotated with animation motion cues, such as streak-lines.
Applicants should have a research background in Computer Vision or a
related area, demonstrated through a publication record. A relevant PhD
is desirable, and the ability to work as a member of a small team is
essential. Programming skills in MATLAB and/or C/C++ would also be
desirable.
The appointment will be for 12 months, starting June 2008 or as soon as
